Pizza Ranch Frozen Pizza Review

Ranch-Frozen-Pizza

We’ve all had at least one or two or let’s face it 10 different types of frozen pizza in our lives. So we know how bad some can be… We also know how good some can be. But can we say they’re the real deal? I didn’t think so either. To provide a review as broad and useful as possible I purchased every type of pizza they sold and gave them all a try to get my own opinion on if they really do taste like they do when you go into the restaurant.

Cheese Pizza

When it comes to buying pizza cheese is almost always what people will go with if not pepperoni. It’s basic but everyone loves it.

Let’s start with the classic – their cheese pizza. This is a basic pizza with a red sauce and mozzarella cheese base.

The first thing I noticed was that this crust was very thin but crispy around the edges which is good if that’s what you like on your pizzas. The cheese was everywhere and melted perfectly giving it that nice stretchy texture when peeling off a slice from the pie. The sauce was tangy but not too overpowering where you would have wished there was more rather than less.

As far as taste went it reminded me exactly of Little Caesars Hot N Ready pizzas for half price! It wasn’t overly greasy, nor salty, just normal tasting good pizza. It’s perfect for anyone who is looking to just get a quick fix of pizza but doesn’t want to drive through Little Caesars.

Pepperoni Pizza

Next up was the pepperoni pizza, which is arguably one of the most popular pizza toppings.

When I looked at this one after baking and cutting it was covered in slices. Slices on slices on slices! The sauce and crust were amazing with this pizza just like every other one but it didn’t stop there. Each slice had its own little cup of oil sitting in them making them look extremely delicious. A few bites later I realized the pepperoni wasn’t chewy at all but instead had great texture.

When eating any other frozen pizza you can always tell that something is missing and you would have rather driven down to Dominos for a pie. But this one had everything you wanted out of good old pepperoni

Supreme Pizza

If you’re anything like me and you always try to use your food groups as an excuse for eating things that aren’t good for you. Here’s another bad thing that is good for you.

I was excited to try Pizza Ranch’s supreme pizza because it is loaded with toppings. This pizza includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, green bell peppers, onions, black olives, and mushrooms.

Seeing how much stuff was on top of each other made me pretty happy considering when I order from any other place they usually skimp on everything but cheese and sauce leaving you disappointed with only three pieces per plate.

The veggies were fresh so they still held some crispness while the meats were full flavored when taking a bite into them both.

Not much more to say besides go get yourself one!

My Rating: 4/5

Supreme Pizza

Some frozen supreme pizzas can have issues with topping sogginess but not this one. The mushrooms, onions, and peppers all maintained their texture nicely. The mix of spicy sausage, pepperoni, and vegetables made for a very bold flavor.

The only downside is that with so many toppings, some of the flavors got a bit lost. But overall, if you love loaded pizzas, this supreme pizza will satisfy your craving!

My Rating: 4.5/5

Meat Trio Pizza

The meat trio pizza consists of sausage, pepperoni, and Canadian bacon. This is a meat lover’s dream pizza!

The first thing I noticed after baking was how well-distributed all the meats were. Each bite was packed with meaty flavors. The Canadian bacon added a nice smoky ham flavor that balanced well with the spicy sausage and pepperoni.

The meats were all high-quality, with the sausage having great spice and the pepperoni bringing that crispy texture I liked. The Canadian bacon was lean and added a pleasant saltiness.

The trio of meats, tomato sauce, and gooey cheese came together for a very indulgent pizza experience! The thin crust kept it from being overwhelmingly greasy. A great choice for hardcore carnivores!

My Rating: 5/5

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Moving onto the specialty pizzas, first up was the buffalo chicken pizza. As a fan of buffalo wings, I was excited to see how buffalo chicken would translate to pizza form.

The pizza had a ranch dressing base instead of tomato sauce which gave it a tangy, creamy base. It was covered with grilled chicken, Monterey jack cheese, and of course buffalo sauce.

After baking, the pizza had nice browned chicken chunks and melted cheese.

The buffalo sauce flavors came through nicely, adding that buttery spiciness you expect. The cool ranch base perfectly balanced out the heat. The textures of the crispy chicken mixed with the melted cheese and sauce was really enjoyable.

This pizza was a unique twist on a beloved flavor profile. Definitely one of the more craveable options in their specialty lineup!

My Rating: 5/5

Breakfast Pizza

As someone who loves breakfast, I was intrigued by the breakfast pizza with sausage gravy as the base.

The creamy, peppery sausage gravy made for an indulgent base. It was topped with scrambled egg pieces, bacon, sausage patties, and cheddar cheese.

After baking, the eggs got a nice browned texture on the edges while still remaining fluffy. The meats provided smoky, savory flavors that went nicely with the rich gravy. The cheddar cheese also paired well with the breakfast vibe.

My only complaint is that I wish there were hash browns included to really give that breakfast feel. But overall, a tasty morning-inspired pizza! It would make for a fun weekend brunch.

My Rating: 4/5

Taco Pizza

Lastly, I tried the taco pizza which includes taco meat, tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a nacho cheese sauce instead of tomato sauce.

The nacho cheese sauce, which was almost akin to queso, acted as a decadent, creamy base. The taco meat added great savory flavor and texture. After adding the fresh lettuce and diced tomatoes, each bite really tasted like a taco!

The crushed tortilla chips got nice and crispy while baking. They added that satisfying crunch and corn chip essence. The abundance of cheddar cheese brought it all together.

As a huge taco lover, it’s no surprise that I was loving this pizza. A must-try if you’re also someone who loves tacos.

Final Thoughts

All in all, the variety and quality of Pizza Ranch’s frozen pizzas really impressed me. The specialty pizzas were definitely my favorite and are sure to be a crowd pleaser. However, their classic cheese and pepperoni pizzas aren’t any ordinary pies either.

If you live in the Midwest, where the Pizza Ranch brand originated, I would highly recommend giving their frozen pizzas a try. They offer convenience without compromising on taste. And let’s not forget about their generous amounts of high-quality ingredients at reasonable prices.

It’s clear that Pizza Ranch has put care into developing frozen pizzas that take after their popular buffet pizza. These pies make for an easy weeknight dinner or snack on game days. Or even just as a quick appetizer for parties. Don’t let the “frozen pizza” label trick you! Based on my tasting experience, these are some seriously crave-worthy slices!

So next time you’re shopping for frozen food, give Pizza Ranch’s frozen pizza a try and leave room for seconds!
